Harvest, Eveleigh

Harvest at Eveleigh is a pop-up restaurant and café concept designed to reflect Australian culture through both its menu and built environment. The structure is inspired by the simplicity of Australian country life, using a corrugated iron shed as its base. This iconic design choice is complemented by a striking, site-specific feature beneath a glass floor: a flowing river created in collaboration with landscape artist David Pereira Incorporating moss and dirt, the river symbolises natural ecosystems, highlighting the environmental impact and sustainability of agriculture.

The menu is centred on locally sourced, sustainably farmed foods and drinks, celebrating Australia’s farming heritage. Inside, the furnishings are kept simple yet thoughtful, featuring cedar wood and Australian native flowers such as Kunzea, creating a warm, natural atmosphere.

The design emphasises adaptability, with the corrugated iron shed easily packed up and relocated. Beyond dining, the space also functions as a takeaway pickup point, offering sustainably sourced food and drinks. By combining traditional Australian materials and modern sustainability principles, Harvest at Eveleigh honours the country’s agricultural roots while providing a unique and immersive dining experience. The contrast between the shed’s simplicity and the innovative river installation encapsulates the essence of harvest and environmental awareness.
